Here, the sky is present all year round

The glass-covered heart of the Inn consists of spiritual nourishment and inspiring company. The Courtyard atrium at Taarbæk Kro is created with Øland tiles on the floors and a glass sliding roof. The earth and sky are therefore always present, but we avoid rain and debris on harsh weather days. So, while the rest of the Inn is a place to snuggle up and perhaps even forget the outside world, in the Courtyard there is never any doubt about the season and the passing of the year – the open, clear sky above the Midsummer celebrations, the snowdrifts like angel wings above the Lucia festival.

You could say that the Courtyard is a modern form of community centre. As everywhere else at the Inn, socialising and conversation are paramount, but here it is event-based. In the Courtyard, you can attend our Inn Fireside Talks or go on an ‘opera trip’, cut Christmas decorations or embroider on recycled tablecloths.
